| Since I can never catch a game during the week and the Sunday games are usually full, what kind of resources would a person need to GM a game properly? |

Firstly, you need an adventure. Ok, you got that. Secondly, you need JParanoia. Got that too? You're ready to start GM'ing!
If you've never GM'd a Paranoia game before, keep your scenario fairly simple. You don't need to create all the pitfalls yourself, the players can do that for you. A typical Paranoia game has a deadly dilemma or two, liberally sprinkled with some suspicion and paranoia and attempts to do the impossible.
Personally, I think its important that your player characters have a little background, even if it's just a short description. For example, 'You're built like a synthe-brick Joy Station and you talk reeeaal slow. Everyone who knows you thinks that you're as thick as slice of Cold Fun. They overestimate you.' Like that.
In short, make some notes beforehand, don't try and do everything at once, squash the players like bugs, reward creative treachary (a little) and enjoy yourself.
I've also added you to the forum's GM group so that you can now visit the Ultraviolet section and chat with the other GM's about the finer points of player death. _________________ High Programmer Jazzer ~ Webmaster of Paranoia-Live.net |

Hmmmmm, yes thats a good question. I would like to gm a few a games (need lots of practice) and I also run XP.
Would it be a problem that I am on 56k? (poor poor 56k people) |

The XP Firewall is easy to turn off.
1. Open My Computer
2. Double-click on Control panel
3. Open Network Connections
4. Right-click on your modem's icon and choose Properties
5. Click the Advanced tab
6. Untick Internet Connection Firewall (if ticked)
You're done.
And Splat-R-EDD, no, it shouldn't really matter whether you're on 56k. _________________ High Programmer Jazzer ~ Webmaster of Paranoia-Live.net |
