Now that we've had a number of suggestions and a fair few people contributing, is it worth narrowing down the field to perhaps three to six settings to take further?
For selection criteria, I suggest the following:
- A decent level of interest so far from the community.
- Somebody willing to champion the idea.
I suggest we start going through the suggestions from the weekend onwards - that will give people a chance to make any last suggestions or to show their support for existing ones. In the meantime, we can discuss selection criteria. _________________ Blog: [DELETED FOR SECURITY REASONS] Is A Compliment |

| I think we should also select for diversity. The settings should overlap as little as possible. |

Only six? What, are you afraid we're going to run out of space? How many settings did Brave New Complex have? _________________ For the Glory of Friend Computer! |

And a "decent level of interest"? It's a bit vague when only two settings have really had input from multiple sources. _________________ Episode 5 info for Aratos-B-SCO-7

Good point.

1: More afraid of running out of contributors - with so much choice at present I think the contributions for some good suggestions have been sparser than they deserve.
2: Not a scooby.

I think more settings than that have had multiple contributors. Yes, the first few ideas - the ones in separate threads - have had more contributions specifically due to that unfair advantage (it is easier to keep up on them, an effect which compounds itself), but several ideas in the generic thread have had a lot of interest as well. Care to offer any other suggesstions? _________________ Blog: [DELETED FOR SECURITY REASONS] Is A Compliment |

Okay, allow me to try again...
We have a "Before I Take This Concept And Run With It" thread. Might I suggest people interested in concepts mentioned within that thread now take them and, indeed, run with them? _________________ Blog: [DELETED FOR SECURITY REASONS] Is A Compliment |

| I will take and run with This Is Alpha Country. I'd love to run with more ideas, but I don't have the spare duty cycles. |

That's brilliant - This Is Alpha Country is one of my favourite suggestions and I look forward to seeing where it goes.
I will continue with Evil Inc. on the grounds that I cannot recall any of my other ideas (if indeed I had any...) I am not sure I can commit to one idea, let alone more. _________________ Blog: [DELETED FOR SECURITY REASONS] Is A Compliment |

I will continue with my hospital and underground dwellers ideas, on the grounds that I have many ideas for both. _________________ Episode 5 info for Aratos-B-SCO-7

Sorry - are we still allowed to suggest ideas?
I have a really good one involving backstabbing angels trying to hide their dirty deeds from God. _________________ ¬_¬

None of my ideas have gained any interest, but I think I'll elaborate on Anarchist Complex. The other ideas are interesting, but they are just Alternate Alpha Complexes, easily understandable and jury-riggable.
Anarchist Complex however have no Authority Figure, nobody is in charge. It's going to be interesting how paranoid the players will be when they know that there is no real Authority Figure around who will listen to their pleas of mercy.
EDIT: Oh, bah, I just realized. Open Source Complex had, not just one, not two, but THREE supporters. Let me think to decide if I want to do both settings. _________________

*Shrugs* We have nothing resembling a plan, so I don't see any reason why not. _________________ Blog: [DELETED FOR SECURITY REASONS] Is A Compliment |
