Hey everyone, I don't know how many of you remember me (obviously some of you do, based on the PMs I started to recieve just from reading the forums!), but I used to be pretty active during the palytesting days, but Real Life (tm) issues have been keeping me away for a while. Now I'm back to and trying to play catch up.
While there's certainly som efun to be had from slogging through every post in the last year or so, I was wondering if there were any threads in particular worth checking out... kind of like a highlight reel. Any recommendations? What have I missed?

I know you, altough you don't know me. You posted some stuff on ULTRAVIOLET clearance that I shamelessly used for the UV Risk ruleset that failed miserbly. Glad to have you back on the fourms.
Well, aside from Phase IV, and the rise of the IC Section of PARANOIA, and the finshing of the first MCM, nothing much has changed.

Yeah, we've gone though a bit of changes since you've been here last...  The forum game is unsummarizable, but I highly recommend jumping in head-first before gauging the depth, to overextend a metaphor. |

OK, so here's the big stuff. After P:XP hit the shelves (hurrah! huzzah!), the site continued on for a while.
Then, two of our more prominent members, saulres and Biggles, were elevated to Staff positions. To introduce them into the staff, and also get people hooked to the site, a...loyalty test...was engineered: saulres and Biggles became the heads of PSION and Anti-Mutant, respectively, and took over the site/sector, while Jazzer, Takyn, and Fargmania were missing. After a suitable period of site disintegration and chaos, the UVs arrived again, and those unfortunate citizens who had aided the two crazed SecSoc leaders (for that's what everyone thought Biggles and saulres were) were chastised.
And then Biggles and saulres were promoted to UVs.
That was the Loyalty Test. A suitable time after that came Phase IV, a restructuring of the site into an IC and an OOC portion. (During the Loyalty Test, the IC portion of the boards grew from the Rec Hall to the entire site. After that, the chaos had to be tamed somewhat).
After Phase IV, a virtual economy (CompConomy) was instituted for the IC portion of the site.
Those are the main points, I think. Unfortunately, ever since Phase IV, there's been a bit less activity on the OOC discussion of Paranoia. Now that you're back, hopefully you'll re-ignite some of that. (Not that there's any pressure on you or anything. No. Noooooo.  )
I also hope that you'll be joining the sublime madness that is the IC game - that's got its own set of rules/regs/the like, which are listed in the OOC Notice Board.

Heh. I notice you conveniently skipped the part where you, Biggles, and all the other UVs except for Jazzer, Farg, Takyn, and myself were all demoted to VIOLET. But that was done for the benefit of the IC game, and no "out-of-character" reduction in rank was performed.
Oh yeah, and then I was made an admin too. Lucky me  |
