Buying PARANOIA suppliments is manditory, citizen...
...but the lack of any won't prevent you from being able to enjoy games as a player. _________________

No, I would say ithat even if you're very loose on the rules it's *very* difficult to GM a game without at least the core book. _________________

Well, assuming you know what all the secsocs and mutations required for the mission do, it's really no problem at all. In theory. _________________ IC info for Vic-R-DIN-1

Depends. I ran my first two games of PARANOIA in 2004 or so, before the new edition came out. There was definitely enough source material online (both here, and Mike-U-LEM's now defunct Paranoia-RPG, OSLT) for me to get a mission put together. _________________ www.ninjalistics.com |

Was. There are the beginer guides and such here, but Paranoia-RPG published full (if abbreviated) rulesets because before PXP, many people *couldn't* get the books that had been years out of print. Obviously it was taken down when Greg and Eric started looking seriously at bringing the game back. (Historical background: Paranoia-O was a ruleset revised by Mike-U-LEM based on the second edition in order to addapt it for online play. The site also had rules for the first, second and fifth (unhistory) editions.) _________________

I used to run Paranoia using a slightly modified version of the Ghostbusters RPG (2nd ed) rules.
Heck. If you understand the setting (or rather, the attitude and feel) of paranoia, then you can run it in any game under any rules, or even no rules. _________________ If the purpose of the experiment is to see what will happen, then the experiment will be a success no matter what happens!

That sounds treasonously close to approving the use of all those "Non-fun" RPG's there Moto! |

I've often thought of running one-shots of D&D, Shadowrun and even a mod for Elder Scrolls Four (Oblivion) that bassicly ammounted to Paranoia in disguise. _________________ If the purpose of the experiment is to see what will happen, then the experiment will be a success no matter what happens!

I run a completely madeup system I made myself for Paranoia and already managed to convert two people to the game. The system is not faulty as I'm good at game balance, it's a matter of me sticking with it. Cause I get bored easily.. _________________ Currently wearing: Red Scare superhero costume.
